If anyone has missed it there is a show on Discovery Channel called
Licence To Drill
it is about
2 different Rigs Drilling..A Nabors Rig is drilling in Northwest B.C. and an Akita Rig is Drilling for MGM in the Arctic
it is on Tuesdays at 8:00 pm and Wednesdays at 7:00 pm

Looks great, and authentic that driller is a suck tit baby, like all the others who have been on the handle for 20 yrs

I can not believe Nabors or Akita would want to show this type operation to the public. If you noticed the first coupel the Nabors guys were skidding along the lease from the heli backwash and this was said to be normal opertion I do not think they would endorse this as a normal risk to drilling. the guys standing on the 2x6 over the
open cellar and drilling 26" hole while standing there is also not a great snap shot of a great safety culture. Hope no one gets hurt on a Nabors rig move or while drilling surface as I would be quick to use the video to demonstrate the way they ensure the safety of their employees (not).
Also I don't know of any one who would look to hire the consultant that is on the Nabors rig as it appears he was over his head and that he cant really manage much more than gettting out of bed. All in all quite entertaining but really just one more cowboy video on the oil patch

Which Akita rig is that.. (did they modify one or did 60 always have the break handle outside the bubble?)
