Previous studies by numerous oil companies indicate electronic inspection or scanning results are more valid when the tubing is taken into the shop for electronic inspection and often, field scans do not match the shop scans. This presentation deals with the techniques, pitfalls, and short comings of how tubing is electronically scanned in the field and offers some helpful hints on getting improved results and data.
