Oil & Gas Reservoir Management
London, United Kingdom

This 4-day workshop is designed for petroleum engineers and geo-scientists who require an appreciation of the key business drivers that influence the development of oil & gas reservoirs, the key uncertainties that must be managed through the life of such reservoirs, and an understanding of how the management (or mismanagement) of these uncertainties can affect reservoir performance and field economics. The course will provide participants with a framework for reservoir management; a list of key business drivers affecting the onshore and offshore development of gas reservoirs, depletion drive oil reservoirs, water floods, EOR schemes, & pilot floods; and a toolbox for evaluating the performance of producing oil and gas fields. Through the discussion of a variety of example reservoirs from on-shore and off-shore developments around the world, participants will gain an appreciation of the strategies required to enhance the performance of producing reservoirs. A complete set of course materials and lunches are included.

Course Outline
Reservoir Management Framework
Gas Reservoir Management
Depletion Drive Oil Management
Water Flood Management
Miscible Flood Management
Pilot Flood Management
Reservoir Management Checklists for Each Reservoir Type
Reservoir Engineering Toolkit for Each Reservoir Type
Field Examples

Exploration Data Contouring, Mapping and Interpretation
Calgary, Canada

This two-day course, designed for explorationists, will assist participants in developing map data contouring skills required to produce reliable and high quality maps in support of exploration and production activities in the Petroleum Industry. The session will emphasize the explorationist’s role as a searcher for deeply hidden hydrocarbons, the necessary positive approach to the interpretation and mapping of subsurface geological features, and the importance of constructing maps that effectively demonstrate and accurately illustrate exploration possibilities and drilling opportunities. Reliable methods for detecting, developing and displaying the not-yet-apparent subsurface features in areas where only fragmental well and seismic control is available are discussed and illustrated with case history examples. The session includes a review of computer-generated maps and their application. A complete set of course materials and lunches are included.

Course Outline
Exploration and Production Objectives
Contouring Techniques
Mapping Subsurface Features
Contouring and Geological Models
Calculating Reservoir Volumes from Maps
Trend Surface and Residuals Mapping
Prosect Mapping from Seismic Data
Computer Generated maps
Quantitative Facies Maps
